I feel like theres lots of people inside me. so i no longer have this external enemy to defend myself against. I still love you so much." i was there for myself in some way and was a happy and energetic person the minute i got outside the house.īut now, i have moved away for college and my parents are even supportive of me. at the end of every bad day i would hug myself and "say its ok, I believe in you, i dont care what you're like, if you really are that bad. i spent so many nights locked in my room or the bathroom scared to come out, and having my parents/brother on the other side of the door just banging on the door and screaming. i really think a lot of my low self esteem and depression stems from being told im nothing and i never will be anything.
even now i get to hear some very hurtful things and im now 19. i got verbally abused by my brother a lot growing up and physically too. I was hit for everything till i was 15 and probably when i was 13 i hit my dad back and was beaten up by both my parents very badly for it.but they did back off a bit and the beatings got lesser and lesser. so i dont know if i should even call it abuse. the answer to all my bad behaviour or mistakes was always being hit. i dont know whether to call it abuse or not.im just an indian kid with indian parents.
